Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the first animated feature film released by Walt Disney Productions (now known as Walt Disney Animation Studios). While Snow White originally premiered in December of 1937, its theatrical run took place in February 1938.
Using traditional cel animation, it was a massive success that led to an honorary Oscar given to Walt Disney at the 11th Academy Awards.
It was released on home video VHS (and the LaserDisc format) in October 1994.
The DVD release occurred in October 2001.
It was followed then by the Blu-Ray release in October 2009.
There was a licensed video game published by Ubisoft, Disney Interactive, and Planet Interactive Development for the GameBoy Color in 2001.
The game featured 7 story-based missions that essentially consisted of collectathon levels bridged by mini-games in between. There are two modes of gameplay: Easy or Challenge. Most of the game is played as Snow White. While not a long game, it contained chiptune music and archaic 15-bit graphics aiming to resemble the animated film.
