Song of the Day: Plastic Wrap

Today’s song is Plastic Wrap by Joy Downer.

This track has the feel of early electronic music from the early 2000’s. It also has a hook that refuses to get out my head.
Yes, it is rather repetitive, but even on repeat I still find this to be an excellent song.

You know what to do do do do do do do do do.

The opening alone builds beautifully. Then the lyrics kick in and it becomes something different (but still surprisingly solid).

I was surprised by how much I enjoy this one. At first I thought of it in passing, but then it stuck around in my playlist as a pet favorite.
Once I realized how distinct it was all of the best parts stood out to me. Gives off a modern ‘Tom’s Diner‘ feel, and I like that (this one is clearly more energized).
