Song of the Day: 99 Red Balloons

Today’s song is 99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger.
Yeah, another cover. I adore the original, but this one capitalizes on early 2000’s nostalgia (punk-rock).
It also makes it abundantly clear how dark this song about accidental global nuclear war is.
Panic bells, it’s red alert. There’s something here from somewhere else.

The original song was recorded in German and I love that they play homage to it’s roots.
I’m aware that many don’t dig covers. That’s their problem, cause covers add variety to classics.
