Song of the Day: Nothing New

Today’s song is Nothing New by The Strike.

A pop band with heavy synth-wave vibes.
Not too steeped in that particular subset to be “in the genre”, but the general 1980’s influences are clear.

I enjoy how contemporary musicians are remembering that saxophone can add a lovely touch to most tracks.

I see it in the way you move. This is nothing new.

The harmony between the saxophone, keyboard and drums in the bridge make this track worth a listen.

The guitar solo, while simplistic, is rather catchy.
Also enjoy that the lyrics in this song take a backseat to the actual performance of the music.
Really allows for the melody to stretch.

The band is also from Provo, Utah and several of the band members are Morman.
Just an interesting note that few would expect. It came up when I searched their music.
