Song of the Day: Born This Way

Today’s song is Born This Way by Lady Gaga.

Electro-pop.
An extremely empowering song that has such an eclectic mix.

For all of the artists from my teenage years, I have a heavy appreciation for Lady Gaga.
Her work as an artist (as well as surprisingly a solid actress) is fascinating.

“There’s nothing wrong with loving who you are”.

This came from her second album, which explored electronic rock and techno-pop.

The heavy synth of the track is a legitimate groove (as well as the choir vocals and the instrumental mix).

The overall message of this song is rather great.
Representation and recognition has a legitimate need in media, and I’m glad that this song exists.
That said, beating someone over the head with the message goes too far at times, but I feel this holds a nice balance.
Equally an empowering track while also relishing in it’s own merit as an individual piece.

As a side note, look at the cover of her second album.
You can’t say that this wasn’t a brilliant/hilarious decision.
