Song of the Day: Castle of Glass

Today’s song is Castle of Glass by Linkin Park.

Electronic Folk rock/Alt Rock.
We all had an ‘edgy’ period in our youth.
This song was part of it.

Memes of the band aside, this is a legitimately well-done track.
The progression is solid and the electronic elements are not over-bearing.
While mostly centering on the vocals, drums, guitar and base, the meaning takes more focus.

Wash the sorrow from off my skin.
Show me how to be whole again.

The ‘industrial’ feel of this one is rather captivating.

You can call it overbearing (the tone is instantly apparent), but it works well.

In terms of songs that I used to listen to ad nauseam, this one still holds up alright.
It knows what it’s trying to do, doesn’t stray from the point and focuses on meeting that tone.
A solid song.
