Song of the Day: Thanks For The Memories

Today’s song is Thanks For The Memories by Fall Out Boy.

Pop-Punk/Emo.
As dated and goofy as this track has become, I find that it still holds up.
There is enough here to appreciate (when looking into it objectively).

Nostalgia can be a bit heavy, but the drumming on this song is rather excellent.
The interluding bridge with the Latin acoustic theme is pretty inspired (and melds well).

One night and one more time.
Thanks for the memories, even though they weren’t so great.

The inclusion of more orchestral instruments (the strings, brass, etc) add a lot to the background.

On repeat, you start to notice the level of attention placed into this one.
Yeah, Fall Out Boy has a reputation in the cultural sense that is difficult to ignore, but this track is interesting.

This is one of their most recognizable singles (and it came from their third album, long after they discovered their ‘sound’).
It’s up to you if it holds up, but in my opinion, it still works.
For how long depends, but for now, I want to highlight it.

A photo of a winged sheep, standing still in a blue bedroom, with the moon and stars in the background. We see the band's name and the album's title written in white.
