Song of the Day: Major Tom

Today’s song is Major Tom by Shiny Toy Guns.

Synthpop cover.
Nothing against the late ’80’s classic by Peter Schilling. Just like this rendition.

The synth/backing is just has a punch to it. Builds the tension, and I love its dip into ethereal tones.

It just builds so well. The pace is set, rockets ahead, and each element keeps your head bobbing along.

Also, a female singer, adds a lot to the message of the song. Hits the sharp notes, pairing well at the ending.
Offers a balance that the original struggles with (nothing against, just my opinion).
