Song of the Day: Show Me The Way
Today’s song is Show Me The Way by Peter Frampton.
Rock.
I love the sound of this song. Yeah, it’s mostly due to the talkbox (that twanging effect).
It’s just so memorable. There is also this soothing element to the whole thing that works for me.
In terms of a rock song from the mid 70’s, it still follows the more mellow tone (as compared to the heavier sound of the 80’s).
Well, I can see no reason you’re living on your nerves.
When someone drops a cup and I submerge.
For some, this track may seem like it relies too heavily on the talkbox (as a gimmick), but I feel it gives strong character.
The drums are solid throughout, the pace is pleasant and the guitar moves through the tone well enough.
Yeah, there is a element of psychedelia to it’s sound, but not nearly as much as other songs around the time it was released.
A solid balance, which gives a bit of a nostalgic factor later in it’s life (it’s over 45 years old already).
