Song of the Day: Chambermaid Swing

Today’s song is Chambermaid Swing by Parov Stelar.
This was my ‘introduction’ to the whole Electro-Swing genre.
Mashed current layering techniques with 1920’s elements. Such a unique blend.
By current standards, this was some real ‘early work’ from the genre.
It came out in 2007. It’s shifted and really grown since this was released.
Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear.

The brass elements make the song, but try to focus on the numb backing electronic hook.
You notice it off the bat when it starts, but it fades as the song picks up steam and gives way to the trumpets.
It holds up so well. Listening to this again just transported me back to my High-School mindset (for better or worse).
