Song of the Day: Sailing

Today’s song is Sailing by Christopher Cross.

Soft rock. Technically “yacht rock”.
This song is practically a lullaby for how soothing it is (especially the piano).

Each element is in sync, from the calming vocals to the smooth percussion.
Key points are the acoustic/electric guitar.
The backing base and the synth add a lot as well.

And if the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility.

It’s sentimental and has a beautiful melody. The construction on this track is exceptional.

Through some catch of luck I managed to find the vinyl album at Goodwill.
There are several great tracks on it (and it managed to beat Pink Floyd’s The Wall for Grammy album of the year).

I’m a sucker for how smooth and relaxing this one is.
My guess is that you might be as well.
