Song of the Day: It’s a Beautiful Day

Today’s song is It’s a Beautiful Day by Michael Bublé.

Pop-rock with hints of vocal jazz.
An upbeat song that makes me less dour.

There is an interesting story behind this track.
Bublé states that it’s about a guy whose girlfriend thinks she’s the greatest and dumps him.
Then he realizes, once she’s gone, his life gets much better.
It’s a neat concept.

Something about this just feels light-hearted and goofy. Yeah, it was likely the intention, but it works well.

The big-band element of this song is rather great.
Those drums are a great stand-out.
Just phenomenal pacing.

I’d be stupid to ignore that Eric Cartman of South Park sang this for a brief moment.
Just a fun bit of trivia.
