Song of the Day: Time to Pretend
Today’s song is Time to Pretend by MGMT.
Indie/Psychedelic Pop.
Wanted to shake it up a bit and this serves as a perfect song for that.
Nothing like a solid debut album.
Seriously, the album rocks for introducing the world to Electric Feel, but this is a great track too.
Love must be forgotten, life can always start up anew.
The electronic hook in this is such a feel-good vibe. Gives mid-2000’s vibes perfectly.
Kinda hate the lyrics, but also appreciate them.
It’s a weird love/hate relationship.
Their sound is more of a surf-rock feel compared to others in the genre, like Tame Impala.
Still, their work can’t be ignored. It was pretty bombastic for the time.
