Song of the Day: The Man

Today’s song is The Man by The Killers.

An odd blend of new-wave/disco rock by that one band you remember from middle-school.
Seriously, Brandon Flowers is in-fact the man.
He’s worked on more hits than most, and his confidence in this is infectious.

It’s goofy as hell (and well aware of that fact).
For that, I have to give it credit.

I’m the man, come round and no-no-nothing can break, you can’t break me down.

The sound of this one has a solid baseline that hits your core. Can’t spell Funk without fun.

Brandon Flower’s voice makes this work (whereas some wouldn’t be able to manage it that well).
It’s goofy, but the song has a general spirit to it.
Something that knows what it is and doesn’t try to position itself as anything else.

Those odd sound effects are bizarre. Just wanted to state that.
Walking with this song in the background is extremely silly, but it works.
Great for getting work/chores done ‘With Feeling’.

I’ve talked about hundreds of them, so you’re bound to find something entertaining.
