Song of the Day: Gold on the Ceiling

Today’s song is Gold on the Ceiling by The Black Keys.

Blues/Glam Rock.
The opening hook alone makes this a song worth sharing.

I really enjoy the raw, electrified energy with this one.
Has a sharp tone that works well, contrasting to the rich vocals.

But there is really nothing, nothing we can do
Love must be forgotten, life can always start up anew.

This track has been featured in a ton of media – which adds to the nostalgia factor.

Songs like this are strange, because while you can point the positives of the song, it’s overuse dates it.
It will forever be segmented into early 2010’s, even though it’s sound is more of a 60’s-70’s blend.
