Song of the Day: 50 Ways To Say Goodbye

Today’s song is 50 Ways To Say Goodbye by Train.

Pop-Rock.
This is clear-cut radio music. To be fair, it does incorporate a mariachi brass section, which is nice.

This song makes me smirk. There is a dark-humor to it that works with the tone perfectly.
It’s fun because the lyrics point to a helpless romantic that can’t come up with a reason for a breakup.

She was caught in a mudslide. Eaten by a lion.
Got run over by a crappy purple Scion.

Say what you will, but the balance is great and those drums are damn spectacular.

Seriously, separate the drums.
They work with the pace beautifully, both in the softer and harder moments.
This was in the back-half of Train’s discography (a whole decade after Drops of Jupiter).
Whether you like it or not is up to you.
