Song of the Day: Christmas at Ground Zero

Today’s song is Christmas at Ground Zero by “Weird Al” Yankovic.

A comedy/Christmas song.
Possibly the darkest humor you could ever hold during the holidays, and for that, I love it.
Compared to some of the sketchy lyrics of some classics (‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside‘), at least this is clear-cut.

Al was forced to make a Christmas song, so he gave the record studio this.
I really wish someone would throw this into the mix at the supermarket, just to see the sheer confusion.

We can dodge debris while trim the tree underneath the mushroom cloud.

To me, this track is in the same vein as ‘Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer‘. Just more brutal.

Look, I like Christmas music, but it gets on my nerves after about a week.
Some years are worse than others, and for that, I verge into alternative Christmas music like this out of spite.
Needlessly edgy and goofy as hell. Somehow, the humor makes it fun again.
