Song of the Day: Where The Light Used To Lay

Today’s song is Where The Light Used To Lay by Yumi Zouma.

Alternative/Indie Pop.
I was surprised by this one when I first heard it. It hooked me with the soothing strumming/vocals in an instant.
Then I focused on all the little details (like the strings jumping in or the harmonies). That solidified this as a great sound.

So won’t you give it up? I’m not gonna wait.
You start to remember all the stupid beds that you ever made.

Yeah, this might not appeal to everyone, but I had a fun time with it. It has a solid grasp on the tone.

The ending of this song leaves such a nice ‘taste in your mouth’. You really notice the strength of the instrumental.
Pair that with some solid vocals and you get a nice track.
