Song of the Day: I’ll Get the Coffee

Today’s song is I’ll Get the Coffee by Kathryn Gallagher.
Yeah, I know that this is not my usual taste. That’s the point.
The whole point of this ‘daily music’ experiment is to find some stuff outside my wheelhouse.
If it leads to excessive-sugar pop sung by a Broadway actress, why the hell not?
You put a spell on me. And I can’t stand to think of my life without you.

This sounds like a much older song. Like, mid-2000’s new-millennium optimism, not something from 2020.
I guess I like the mentality behind it (especially given that this came out during the ‘plague year’).
That and the heavy emphasis on the drums/electric guitar.
It’s giving me heavy ‘Suddenly I See’ by KT Tunstall vibes and that’s an interesting thing.
