Song of the Day: Dragostea din tei

Today’s song is Dragostea din tei by O-Zone.

Eurodance.
This song is a classic, and yeah, the meme material is still there.
Apart from the silliness, it is still a solid dance-pop track from a Moldovan pop group.
It’s just a ton of fun.

Ma-i-a hi, Ma-i-a hu,
Ma-i-a ho, Ma-i-a ha-ha.

Everyone from my generation likely knows this track. It’s from Numa Numa.

Many recognize it as one of the first ‘viral’ videos they can remember.
I recently learned that it was on Newgrounds first, which I didn’t expect, but I’m happy to know of.
This song may live on in infamy (until it is eventually lost on it’s significance with newer generations).

Cartoon illustration of, from left to right, Radu Sîrbu, Arsenie Todiraş, and Dan Bălan, with a flying airplane in the background. Radu is shown in gray with sunglasses, Arsenie is shown in blue with sunglasses, and Dan is shown in a yellow t-shirt. The caption on the bottom reads "O-Zone" while the caption on the top-right reads "DiscO-Zone."
