Song of the Day: Forget Me

Today’s song is Forget Me by Lewis Capaldi.

Pop.
Songs like this tend to pop up (heh).
This one stuck in my mind longer than most and I’ve been listening to it for a few weeks.

Breakup songs are a dime-a-dozen, but this one is simple, harsh and not-overdone.

Days ache and nights are long.
Two years and still you’re not gone. Guess I’m still holding on.

This isn’t one of those ‘think critically’ songs. It’s a solid breakup track. Simple as that.

I like the strong vocals, the mixing is straight-forward, and it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome.
The piano, simple beat and rise/fall pace works.
I wonder how ‘contemporary’ this will sound in a few years.
