Song of the Day: Year of Love

Today’s song is Year of Love by Jenny Hval.

Art-pop.
This one is too mellow for words. It just sets a mood that I can only describe in abstracts.
Jenny Hval is a Norwegian musician, and this is from her later work (8th album).
While I am unfamiliar with her other albums, I’ll be taking a look into it.

We were married on a rainy day.
Isn’t that how the song goes?

That organ melody brings such a distinct mood (and the guitar/percussion season the track with a ton of great emphasis).

I feel like the lyrics are fine, but the instrumental is much heavier.
Nothing against the message (the lyrics say quite a lot about a relationship).
Simply dial into the feel of the music more. Just my thoughts on that point.
